Floating In
Infinity - Back To Front: The Coastline of the
Mornington Peninsula
Location:
Mornington Peninsula
Date
Released: May 2004
Occasionally
during Autumn the peninsula
experiences some very dramatic and
awesome fogs, particularly the
eastern coast which is protected
from the winds by the hills of
Arthur Seat. The fogs often
roll in from Western Port Bay and
linger around the coast bringing
with it a surreal and ultimately
unique feeling to the place.
The fog was so thick on this morning
that the sun could only afford to
push through as much as that light
patch just off centre at the top
of the photograph. When I
turned to return back to shore the
fog rolled in even thicker and you
could no longer see the
boats. The near perfect
stillness of the water and the
blanket of fog make the boats seem
as if they are floating is
emptiness.
