The Mornington Peninsula plays
host to hundreds of beach houses,
and there are so many different
styles depending on where you
are. Here along the northern
section, the Mount Martha beach is
narrow, and during stormy
conditions the waves can come up
quite high on the shore.
Thus, the beach houses here are
propped up on stilts to protect
them from the pounding
waves.
