Dawn In
Hastings - Back To Front: The Coastline of the
Mornington Peninsula
Location:
Mornington Peninsula
Date
Released: October 2004
Hastings on the Western Port side
of the peninsula is a changing and
growing town. In recent
years there have been many new
developments along the foreshore
here. It also has a rich
boating history, and this
continues today with marinas
located up and down this
coast. The depths of the
water in this region vary
dramatically and can play havoc
with unsuspecting sailors.
As you can see in this photo, the
low tide reveals a mudflat that
stretches out along the jetty, but
then there is a sudden change in
depth, and the water is deep
enough to accommodate the large
yachts that dock here.
