Crashing
Coast - Back To Front: The Coastline of the
Mornington Peninsula
Location:
Mornington Peninsula
Date
Released: February 2005
Looking like a giant sea monster
(our own Nessie perhaps), this
wave pounds against one of the
rock platforms that juts out from
the southern coast of the
peninsula. Fishermen run the
risk of being swept out to sea in
this area as the swells that come
up to these rocks can be totally
unpredictable. When looking
at this image, it can be difficult
to imagine that this splash is
actually (without a word of
exaggeration), about the height of
a 2 storey house. So one
could say that, as it's shape
demonstrates, these waves really
are the monsters of the
sea.
