Pebble Cove
- Back To Front: The Coastline of the
Mornington Peninsula
Location:
Mornington Peninsula
Date
Released: September 2005
At
the southern edge of Mount Martha
lies this interesting little
beach. There is very little
sand here as its shore is made up
primarily of smoothed granite
boulders. The debris and
rock formations tell a story of
terrible storms and massive waves
along with thousands of years of
slow but steady erosion.
This beach is quite unique and
unassuming. Though new
residential developments go on
just around the corner, you would
never know, and would be forgiven
for feeling that you are on some
remote beach, as the peace here is
wonderful. Nothing but the
sound of the water rolling the
stones and carving its way between
the rocks can be heard.
