Pursuit of Light and Landscape"
History
Based in Melbourne,
Australia, Sam Sneddon has been taking photographs
since 2003, when he was introduced to the format by a visiting
relative. After extensive practice and experimentation,
he finally settled on his favourite style, the panorama.
Drawing inspiration from some of Australia's leading landscape
photographers, Sam soon learnt how to capture scenes in this
special format. Over time, Sam honed his skills at
photograph stitching and travelled all over Victoria in
pursuit of light and landscape. He developed a genuine
passion for discovering new and unseen locations.
Nowadays he offers the fruit of his labour in the form
of limited edition prints and stock photographs, so that
others can share-in, and benefit-from Sam's explorative
journeys around Victoria.
In 2005 and 2006 Sam exhibited his first themed series of
images based on the coastline of the Mornington
Peninsula. Titled 'Back To Front' and featuring 25
images of both natural and man-made coastal features, the
series met high acclaim and very soon Sam's photographs were
highly sought after. The creation of the series sparked
a new found love of coastal images, and since then Sam has
continued to pursue this theme with a follow up series titled
'Land's End' encompassing both the Mornington and Bellarine
Peninsulas.

endeavours to offer collectors of his fine-art limited edition
prints, stunning images of unique and interesting locations
not over-saturated by the commercial photography market.
He believes that there is something more special in capturing
a location that uncommon or
taken-for-granted, and re-introducing viewers to their own
backyards. In addition to this, Sam believes in pursuing
a genuinely unique perspective in his images, avoiding
imitation or emulation and attempting to
lead-by-example through innovation.

than quantity. For commissioned work, Sam will work with you
in order to understand and evaluate your needs - to provide images
